HOPE FOR MOVEMENT AWAY FROM VIOLENCE AT THE MIDTERMS

Though I did not prevail in my run for Congress, I hope that many and many more will find the way, and inspiration, to turn back the tide of greed violence that plagues our country.  One step is to persist in voting for people who will help make this change, so I offer support to the one that bested me in the Democratic primary August 7th.  And I plan to begin more regular writing this coming year.  We have much to do--work and pray, as All Saints, and All Souls Days approach, to raise up the lowly, and cast down the mighty from their thrones.

Here is my endorsement of Kim Bizon for U.S. House of Representatives, 10th District.

To the people of the 10th District.  Thank you to those who voted for my candidacy, and for what Democrats stand for in our part of the world.  Please consider voting now for Kim Bizon, U. S. House of Representatives.  And I invite all citizens, regardless of political persuasion, to do the same.  She won against myself and Frank Accavitti in the August primary, in campaigns that were civil, considerate, and moved in a positive direction.  Kim will be an outstanding representative of our area, committed, informed and hard-working.  She invested the most time in the trenches, contacting the most amount of regular citizens, having started her efforts long before either of us, her primary opponents.  I’d venture to say she has made more person to person individual contact with back home voters during our primary campaign, than her Republican opponent has had in his full 2 years as our representative in Congress.

We have the possibility of changing a dynamic on Nov. 6, 2018--from a democracy dominated by dollars and the privileged powerful, to the personal and inclusive.  We can choose a person willing and able to listen to the people of her district.  We must turn away from the arrogance and distance of men [even a man of good Christian principle as friends attest to Representative Mitchell’s character] whose wealth distance them from the common citizen, to someone who’s door is open to all the people who’ve elected them.  Kim Bizon is such a person.  She has sacrificed much to join in completely as a candidate, willing to fully serve her constituency.  She is a Christian committed to the causes of social justice, and environmental stewardship, involved in the best forms of fiscal conservancy—those which respect life as they offer a path up to the less fortunate, and a responsible welcome to the immigrant.   Working people would find her in solidarity for better jobs and wages.  For all of us she’d support renovating the roads and public education infrastructure that are crucial to our future economy—one built on the contribution of, and inclusive of every citizen.

e must turn from a democracy dominated by the top dollars to a democracy responsive to the needs of the general public.  Kim Bizon will go to Washington to help return our government to civility, and respectful dialogue, while supporting full representation of all citizens, in national legislation that fights the terrible influence of money in politics [in the same vein as our current state ballot measures #2 and #3.]  She will work for a clean Great Lakes, air we breathe, and water we drink—a green energy, which supports family farms, as well as technological innovation.  And help to save us all from the pollution of plutocratic, profits-at-any-costs politics in Wash. D.C..  Vote for hope in darkening violent times; vote Kim Bizon for District 10 U.S. House of Representative.

A Jewish girl prays for the grace of God's Son coming into the world - to vanquish the powerful by the gift of nonviolent merciful love that conquers all.  This most recent diabolical act of violence against the Jewish citizens of Pittsburgh, praying in their synagogue, will not prevail, and must lead us to a national change of heart.
